Ear Surgery Teaching and Simulation Training System
Background pain points
Traditional ear surgery teaching relies on a mentorship model of 'see once, do once', with limited opportunities for students to practice and high risks and poor reproducibility of actual surgeries. A simulation system lacking force feedback is difficult to reproduce fine ear operation tactile sensations, resulting in low efficiency of skill transfer.
Solution
Jointly promote the industrialization project of virtual simulation teaching system with Peking University Shenzhen Hospital. Based on the sequential force intelligent high-precision force feedback device, it supports dual hand collaborative operation and realistically reproduces key actions such as cutting, separation, gripping, and placement performed by experts in otology surgery. The system has built-in expert case studies and action decomposition teaching, supporting students to copy expert techniques and quickly replace control levers according to the shape of surgical instruments.
Technical Highlights
Collaborative force feedback of both hands: fully reproducing the changes in tension and resistance of the left and right hands during ear surgery
Expert technique copying: supports real expert action decomposition and repeated practice, shortening the learning curve
High fidelity scene restoration: covering the entire surgical process of tissue cutting, separation, clamping, placement, bleeding, etc
Applied Value
Improving the safety and reproducibility of otology surgery teaching
Constructing a new teaching system of "expert experience+digital simulation"
Reduce the dependence of clinical training on real surgeries and help grassroots doctors grow
